This surreal and symbolic painting features a powerful composition that explores themes of inner strength, duality, time, and transformation.
At the center, a nude figure stands in a vulnerable yet empowered pose, holding another figure protectively — an embodiment of the self…the inner child. The figures are partially transparent and fused, suggesting an entanglement of identities, or soul connections.
Emerging from the top of the main figure’s head is the roaring head of a white tiger with fierce energy. The woman appears to be wearing the tiger like a headdress or mask — a striking representation of inner power, raw emotion, or the unleashing of primal instincts. A sign of courage and inner strength
Numbers are being thrown out of her hands, spiraling, floating freely and breaking from conventional order. They range from basic integers to complex numerals like “6.023” or “Avogadro’s Number” which is the number of atoms, molecules, ions, or other particles in one mole of a substance… and other mathematical symbols, perhaps referencing sacred geometry, time, fate, or even quantum mechanics. One of my favorites is eiπ + 1 = 0 which is considered by mathematicians to be the most beautiful equations…it’s like the universe is whispering that everything is connected. These digits flow into a large fan at the base — a traditional Asian-style fan adorned with symbols and characters. This element serves as a nod to the rich visual language of Asian cultures, which I deeply admire for their elegance, symbolism, and philosophical depth. While I do not belong to this culture, I’ve long found its aesthetics and mysticism incredibly beautiful and inspiring, and I incorporated this reference with sincere respect and curiosity.
Purple swirling lines snake through the composition, tying elements together like strands of fate or consciousness. The background blends greens, aquas, and deep blues with luminous yellows, forming a mystical, dreamlike environment that feels both aquatic and celestial. Stylized clouds or waves add movement and a sense of depth.

This piece came to me at a time when I started feeling like maybe I had learned a few things worth passing on… but at the same time, I was fully aware of how much more I still needed to learn. It wasn’t about acting like I had all the answers — it was more about acknowledging a small shift, a step forward in my own growth. A moment where I felt connected to something deeper.
I’ve always been intrigued by numbers — the mystery in them, the rhythm, the way they feel connected to something bigger. And I’ve long admired the beauty and wisdom of Asian culture. I’m not from that culture, but I’ve always found its art, symbolism, and philosophies incredibly inspiring, and I tried to reference it in this piece with a lot of respect and genuine curiosity.
The tiger, the numbers spiraling out, the dual figure — it all came together as a kind of visual reflection of where I was at: evolving, still figuring things out, but wanting to offer something meaningful through the process. Maybe it’s just about holding space for both — the knowing and the not knowing — and sharing what I can from that place.
