Canadian Geese Flying over Lake Tahoe at 30,000ft in the early morning sunrise. This piece captures a surreal sunrise over Lake Tahoe, imagined from 30,000 feet above the northwest edge of the lake. The scene centers around the deep blue water, surrounded by flowing ridges and snow-capped peaks. If you know Tahoe, then some of these mountains might look familiar:) Billowing clouds drift through the sky in soft, spiraling forms—some of them almost feeling alive, like spirit or breath moving across the landscape.
On the upper left, the sun rises behind a huge billowing cloud, and the light is getting pinched just enough to flare outward stretching across the whole piece and casting a kind of sacred geometry and radiant energy over the whole scene. Above, a flock of Canadian Geese glides across the sky, pulling the eye toward the distant horizon. On the right, a massive arched form—part spirit, part memory—emerges from the clouds, echoing the mystery and motion.
Cool tones of blue, purple, and green meet warm bursts of light and energy, creating a dreamy, high-altitude perspective. There are no reference photos here—just memory, imagination, and a deep love for this place. The painting is all about perspective: the feeling of flying above something familiar and seeing it with new eyes.
