A quiet tower of forgotten books glows under candlelight, its open pages releasing stories like rising smoke. Sacred Stacks honors the stillness of night, where knowledge lingers and the unseen becomes sacred.

Statement From Michael

Books have always felt like portals to me—quiet, weighty things that hold entire worlds inside them. I think there’s something sacred about that. Each one is a kind of locked universe, waiting patiently for someone willing to slow down, turn the pages, and listen.

In Sacred Stacks, I wanted to capture that sense of reverence… the feeling that books are more than objects. They’re living things in their own way—holding memory, story, wonder. The stack in this piece rises like an altar, lit by a single candle, as if the room itself is holding its breath. It’s about the magic that lives in stillness, and the adventure that begins the moment we open a page.
