A flickering candle casts long shadows over stacks of ancient books, scrolls, scattered coins, and the delicate wreckage of handwritten letters. Time leans to one side—forgotten in the pursuit of knowledge. In the middle of it all stands a mouse, poised on a page of notes, having set down his own tiny spectacles to peer through a much larger pair. He’s deep in study, trying to decipher the secrets of some long-lost wisdom etched beneath his feet.
Another mouse reaches up to light the candle, a small flame igniting a scene that feels as if it’s been paused mid-magic. Up high, atop a stack of old books to the right, a third mouse stands among chess pieces—mimicking their stillness, almost trying to blend in, as if he’s contemplating his next quiet move in a grand game of ideas.
This piece is a celebration of curiosity, of hidden scholars and secret seekers. It invites the viewer to imagine what happens in the stillness of twilight, when even the smallest beings come alive in pursuit of something greater.

This piece is a continuation of Secrets of Night, where curious mice wander through an ancient library—curious, clever, and quietly determined. Each mouse reflects a part of my own imagination: the one who lights the way, the one who studies closely, and the one who strategizes from above. The Alchemist’s Archive is an ode to that inner world—to the wonder, the questions, and the quiet obsession that drives me to create. Through these works, I explore the joy of discovering knowledge, the thrill of imagined worlds, and the timeless pull of curiosity. Painting them is like stepping into the archives of my own mind, where even the smallest characters carry the weight of magic, memory, and meaning.
