The Spring Bee Collection

The Spring Bee Collection is a journey of rebirth—a testament to hope, resilience, and the power of creativity to heal. From late 2019 to mid-2022, I experienced some of the hardest years of my life. A series of traumatic events, profound loss, and overwhelming grief left me feeling lost, disconnected from myself, and uncertain of the path I was meant to follow. And it wasn’t just me—the whole world was going through its own difficult and uncertain times. Finding meaning in anything felt impossible, and for a long while, I was completely knocked down.

Then, one morning in May 2022, something shifted. I picked up my brush and started painting a bee, envisioning flowers growing from her back. Succulent-inspired blooms—an element I had explored in past work—began to take shape, and with each brushstroke, I felt something stir inside me. I sat there in the early morning light, coffee in hand, completely absorbed in the moment. For the first time in a long while, I felt happy.

Soon after, I started a second painting, this time of a little orange bee. As I imagined daisies, fox tails, or maybe even sunflowers blooming from her back, my mind suddenly overflowed with ideas. I felt a rush of excitement—it was electrifying, like a spark of renewal had been reignited within me. These bees were no longer just paintings; they had become a calling, a reminder of who I was and the creative path I had strayed from.

These brilliant little bumblebees became symbols of life emerging from the darkness—tiny messengers of resilience and renewal. Their beauty and energy reignited my passion, and with each new piece, my sense of purpose grew stronger. For the first time in a long while, I could see a way forward—one that led me back to making art fully, with intention, with heart. And so, the journey began.

The Spring Bee Collection has since become an ever-growing body of work, expanding each year as my artistic journey continues. It is filled with endless possibilities, each piece a testament to transformation and hope. This collection is more than just art—it is a deeply personal manifesto of resilience, creativity, and renewal. It stands as a reminder that new beginnings are always within reach, that even in our darkest moments, light is waiting to emerge.

These bees are my tribute—to the strength found in small things, to nature’s quiet yet powerful miracles, and to the profound healing power of art.
