This painting is a surreal and colorful take on a bumblebee carrying the energy of all the chakras. Each flower on her back represents one of the body’s energy points, from the red hibiscus at the root to the deep violet flower at the crown.
Her big, patterned eyes give her a playful, almost cosmic personality, and she flies in a dreamy, fantasy space setting. The glowing spheres you see could be planets or moons, adding to that outer-space vibe. The golden line drifting through the piece brings a sense of movement and energy, like she’s weaving her own path through the universe.

Celestial Nectar was a commissioned piece for a good friend of mine in Morrison, Colorado. While I was building out The Spring Bee Collection, there were just as many custom bumblebees being requested as there were ones coming straight from my own imagination—I could barely keep up at the time, but the collection continues to grow, and this one holds a special place.
I painted Celestial Nectar as a way to explore that sweet space where nature and spirit meet. She’s a queen bumblebee—strong, fertile, connected—and she carries a crown of seven vibrant flowers on her back, each one representing a chakra and the energy that moves through us.
It starts with the red Hibiscus for the Root Chakra—grounding, stabilizing, rooted to the earth. Then comes the orange Poppy for the Sacral Chakra, tied to creativity and flow. The yellow Sunflower lights up the Solar Plexus, symbolizing confidence and inner strength. For the Heart Chakra, I chose a soft green Orchid—compassion, love, the center of it all.
The Throat Chakra is shown through a calm blue Hyacinth, about truth and self-expression. Deep indigo and purple Pansies mark the Third Eye, connecting to intuition and insight. And finally, the Crown Chakra is a luminous violet Tiger Lily, with just a touch of white—symbolizing spiritual connection and the vastness of the universe.
It’s a tribute to the energy that flows through all living things—calling us to align, awaken, and live in tune with something greater.
